Hey there, soap enthusiasts! At Cheryl's Southern Soapery, we're serious about the sudsy delights we produce.  We are governed by multiple government agencies and regulations to ensure your safety.

  1. Medical Claims:  I don't make them.  Period.  Regulations set forth by the FDA prohibit bath and body companies from making health-related claims about soap and beauty products.  I am not a medical or healthcare professional and do not claim that any products made by Cheryl's Southern Soapery may have a positive effect on physical or mental conditions.  The information found in our listings pertains to the properties of specific ingredients that are used in our products.
  2. Products targeted to Children:  We do not do create products that target children.  The law defines a "children's product" as a consumer product designed or intended for children 12 years of age or younger.  Products targeting children 12 years of age and younger must undergo undergo third party testing and to have a written Children's Product Certificate (CPC) demonstrating compliance.  At Cheryl's Southern Soapery, we produce products that are "General Use Products" and are designed for consumers of all ages.  No specific age group is targeted.  Our products are designed to appeal to anyone who uses soap and not specifically intended children.  We think bathing should be fun and inviting for all and, yes, perhaps bring out the inner child in all of us.
  3. Soap products produced by Cheryl's Southern Soapery meet the FDA's very specific definition of 'soap'.  DIRECTLY FROM THE REGULATIONS:  … the Food and Drug Administration interprets the term “soap” to apply only to articles that meet the following conditions:  The bulk of the nonvolatile matter in the product consists of an alkali salt of fatty acids and the detergent properties of the article are due to the alkali-fatty acid compounds; and The product is labeled, sold and represented only as soap.  21 CFR 701.20(a)
  4. Lotions, body butters, cream pots or other similar product intended for skin are: "Made by a manufacturer exempt from Florida's cosmetic manufacturing permit requirements."  FLA. STAT. § 499.01(2)(p)(2) (2022).  We follow extremely strict sanitizing protocols with all equipment, surfaces and packaging.
  5. Labeling and Ingredients: as permitted by regulations, Cheryl's Southern Soapery uses 'In the Pot' labeling.  We do this intentionally so that you can read, in plain English, what simple and wholesome ingredients have gone into the making of your soap AND so that you can easily identify if you have sensitivities to any of the ingredients.
